The Integral Foothills Corridor runs for 2.6 kilometres and covers about 57,000 m² in western Cali.
Edward Conde Serna Arquitectos organises paths, raised walkways, rain gardens, sports areas and native planting along an edge where slopes and streams had produced fragmentation.
The walkway is more than a promenade. It crosses difficult ground without sealing the entire surface and protects soil so it can continue absorbing water.
The project will need to be tested during heavy rain, heat and everyday use. An ecological corridor works when it connects habitats and neighbourhoods, not when green pieces remain isolated among hard surfaces.

When does a linear park become real infrastructure?
When it enables movement, absorbs water, reduces heat, connects ecosystems and keeps working under difficult conditions. Length matters less than the continuity of those functions.
